planning and storyboarding, researching in books and on the Internet, writing scripts and narratives, and clustering around computers in cooperative work groups, creating meaning out of the curriculum and their experiences."Really, what can be better than students making their own creations? They devise their own plan then act on it. Students take initiative, which is a lost skill now-a-days. I really enjoy seeing that the students are excited and motivated!

I really don't know if it is a lost skill. I just think that educators haven't been putting coals in the fire to begin with. I do agree though. It is quite amazing to see something like this happen in schools. I really hope that this example in Buffalo spreads like a wildfire.
